It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost three years since I last wrote. Of course, we’ve been busy. A lot has happened and our lives have changed drastically since November 10, 2016.
First of all, our son was born on November 28 – or 18 days after my last post. He’s now in the midst of his terrible twos and causing us much trouble. He’s very independent. He doesn’t like to listen. He frustrates the hell out of us.
But he is very bright light in our lives. We’re enjoying watching him grow up to strong and healthy boy.
Oh, by the way, we had a daughter on July 26 of this year who simply adore and cannot get enough of. She is doing great. Our experience in her first few months were quite a bit easier than with our son. Mostly because she is a good sleeper.
Having two young children and having to work 40-plus hours each week doesn’t exactly leave a lot of leisure time for us. We’re exhausted. Too tired to get on dates. Too tired for each other. Our life is really built around taking care of our children and raising them.
There have been other big changes in our lives. The wifey stepped away from her frantic and stressful job at the hospital for a part-time position that provides her a lot of off time – including most of the summer months. We’re very lucky that she can be home with the children a lot.
Myself, I’m still plugging away at a full-time job – albeit a different one from the last time I wrote here.
While the job necessitated moving away a few hours a year and a half ago, the commute to and from work is much more palatable. No more spending two hours a day in the car. I’m happier and healthier for it. Plus, it gives me more time with my family.
This time around for our relocation, we really did our homework on moving companies in Manlius, NY. The team we decided on did not disappoint. They were affordable and friendly. I couldn’t recommend them more. You can find them online right HERE.
While we spent much of the summer enjoying the outdoors – I love intense cornhole competitions games in the backyard – the weather is getting cold fast and we’re often stuck inside. I love doing puzzles and am thinking about buy a couple challenging ones with thousands of pieces.
I don’t Gabrielle will be happy about that. She doesn’t like when I watch football on Sundays and neglect some of my fatherly duties for three hours. Oh well.
Life is moving so fast. I wouldn’t doubt if it’s another three or four years before I write again. I can only wonder how much our lives will change in that time. It’s altogether exciting and scary.
In the meantime, we’ll enjoy every minute we have with our children and make the most of those few fleeting moments of free time.
For now, cheers to you and yours.
